Historic Gardens and Architecture

Welcome to Timothy Mowl's site on historic landscapes and gardens and architectural history. After publishing 14 books, Tim has now completed his Historic Gardens of England series in order to free himself up for other projects. These include mentoring past students and work on his own research topic - a biography of the Great God Pan. His latest article, published in the 2016 Winter issue of Garden History, concerned the true architectural inspiration behind the celebrated Palladian Bridge at Wilton House
